11x14 “Bon á tirer” Print
It is the “Bon á tirer” print which translates to “Ready To Pull,” and it is the final trial proof–approved by the artist–which tells the printer exactly how the edition should look.
That’s what these prints are.
Every image is a process.
We design dozens of images, literally, and from all those images we pick one or two that “might work.”
Again we then narrow it down to “that’s the one.”
The H/P printer we have at our house sucks when it comes to printing images of any kind, so we send the digital image out to have the professionals print it, and when they do that the single image we get back becomes…The B.A.T.
Not exactly an A/P version, those are prints that only the photographer gets and are NOT part of the number run of the image.
The B.A.T. comes before the A/P.
One of one.
Every other print of the image is basically a copy of the…
… Bon á tirer.”
